Cats and other ways to pass the time
Comments(9) When we finally got Kess home she blasted into the room room like an unruly beast and within mere moments was assaulted by our cats. Being very dog savvy they decided to put this puppy in its place before it got any grandiose ideas about it’s status in the household. Both cats promptly chased her right out the door, and that is where Kess stayed. She sat outside and looked in at as for some time. I gave her the chance to size us up, and went outside several times to try to coax her in, but she wasn’t having any part of it. Cats were scary . . . very scary.
Chaos the instigator
Eventually my husband carried her in the house and into the bedroom for the night. Kess quickly discovered that even though kitties can hurt you, they are lazy, and can only reach about 3 feet. So if your quick it’s really fun to sit just out of reach and stare at them. If Kess could herd sheep as well as she manages cats we’d be champions.

Awaiting the move from the cat you are! I know you are! And then it’s pounce on the kittie! Or chase ’em! At least that is how it is at my house with Maggie(GSD mix) and her sister, Haley, the Aussie 🙂

Too funny… I like how she glances at the camera a if to say, “What? Leave me alone, I’m busy!” 🙂 Maybe she’s trying to hypnotize kitty.
Ha – that is so like Tazzie, no doubt the border collie in him. At first he scared me with his staring (he stared at me nearly the same way he stared at cats, and I thought staring was supposed to be aggressive). And he did not blink at the camera the way that Kess occasionally did.
I have many Tazzie staring at cats photos. I’m sure he would have made a cat x dog hybrid if it had been possible for a neutered doggie boy.
The cats probably like Kess as much as she likes them, even if they don’t admit it!

Hey Ginger not to worry. We’re playing a little catch-up on our history so this all happened several years ago. The video is from yesterday . . . Kess had to take a brief break from keeping the kitties in line while she recovered from her recent amputation. Luckily she had Suki the wonder mutt around to pick up the slack, but we’re happy to see Kess back on the job.
